Scene Forges ("we", "us") is a free, advertising-supported screenwriting platform with an optional Pro subscription for advanced workflow and collaboration. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not make technical security claims we cannot verify.
When you create an account, we store your email address and the name you provide. We use this to identify you, sync your projects across devices, send service notices, and, for Pro subscribers, process payments. You can edit your name in Settings and request account deletion at any time.
The screenplays, outlines, story boards, character notes, vault files, and other project materials you create are stored with your account so you can open and edit them later. You own your writing. We do not claim ownership of your scripts, characters, stories, dialogue, or project materials, and we do not use your screenplay content to train models. Your story stays yours.
If you use Pro collaboration features, the collaborators you invite, their roles, comments, presence indicators, and shared project access are stored so your team can work together. Only the project owner needs a Pro subscription; invited Free users participate in that Pro-owned project according to their assigned role. When a collaboration session ends, shared access is removed but the owner's screenplay remains.
Files you upload to the Vault (research, references, images) are stored with your account and count toward your plan's storage allowance. Avoid uploading material you do not have the rights to store. You can delete uploaded files at any time.
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your editor preferences (theme, font, daily goal), and cache an offline copy of your current project so writing survives a dropped connection. You can clear these in your browser settings.
Scene Forges uses the Base44 platform's built-in product analytics to understand how the service is used so we can improve it. We track product events only, such as when a project is created, an editor is opened, a PDF is exported, or a Pro checkout is started. We do not send your screenplay text, dialogue, character descriptions, story notes, private comments, or screenplay titles to product analytics. Analytics data is associated with your account where you are signed in, or anonymous where you are not.
The Free plan is supported by advertising. We may use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, to display ads on public pages such as the landing page, templates, and educational guide content. Ads do not appear on authenticated work surfaces such as your dashboard, vault, or editor, and are never placed inside screenplay text, between paragraphs, over the editor, or inside exported PDFs. Pro subscribers get an ad-free workspace.
Third-party advertising vendors and ad networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads and, where applicable and permitted, to personalize ad content based on your activity. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
Where required by applicable law (for example, in certain regions), we ask for your consent before loading non-essential advertising technologies. A consent banner appears on your first visit, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings under Advertising Preferences. We do not invent compliance claims; the specific mechanism depends on your location and the active advertising implementation.
Pro subscriptions are processed through Wix, our payment and checkout provider. Scene Forges does not store your full payment card number on its own servers. Wix receives the billing details needed to process the transaction and shares transaction and subscription status with us so we can enable Pro features on your account. We keep your projects and account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a project, it is removed. When you delete your account, your projects, versions, comments, and uploaded files are deleted as well. Some records may be retained in backups for a limited time before they are permanently removed.
You can export any screenplay at any time from the editor's Export menu as a PDF, Fountain, or Final Draft (.fdx) file (FDX with Pro), or save a Scene Forges backup file. A complete one-click account archive is not available yet; export each project you want to keep before deleting your account. You can delete individual projects from the dashboard, and delete your entire account, including projects, versions, comments, and uploaded files, from Settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Scene Forges is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We use essential technologies to keep the app working and advertising technologies to support the free service. Ads appear only on public pages like the landing page, templates, and guide, never in your editor or exports. You can change these anytime in Settings.
